About the Department

Our college offers Fashion Technology course with aspire of shaping fresh talents into dynamic fashion technologists who would significantly contribute to the field of fashion and apparel. It is one of the most innovative course where it synchronizes creativity and technology to develop a new world of fashion design and apparel technology. Fashion Technology course primarily focuses on developing technical skills related to fashion and apparel.

  • The significant areas covered by course are fashion designing, portfolio development, pattern making and grading, apparel manufacturing technology, production planning and quality control, fashion and apparel management and functional textiles.
  • The course enable the students to get specialized in areas like art and craft, surface ornamentation, fashion illustration, flat sketching, computer aided designing, portfolio preparation, draping modeling techniques, fashion forecasting, fashion show, etc.,
  • The course enable the students to learn the key aspects of fashion and apparel technology through extensive theory classes, intensive practical session, industrial visit, industry internship and portfolio development.
  • The periodic industrial visits for the students to various textile and garment industries help to enhance their first-hand knowledge in their area of specialization.
  • The special lectures by the industrial experts give wide exposure to the students to know the current trend and technologies adapted in the fashion and garment industry respectively.

Programme Details

After 2 to 4 years of graduation, the graduates will:

  • PEO1:Core Competence: Enrich knowledge in the field of Fashion Technology along with the allied areas and provide techno-economic solutions to the problems.
  • PEO2:Adaptability and Continuous Learning: Provide strong foundation in engineering and experimentation skill to comprehend the manufacturing processes providing practical and innovative solutions.
  • PEO3:Interpersonal Skills and Team Work: Engross in life-long learning with an abreast of emerging technology as a successful professional and entrepreneur.

Engineering graduates will be able to:

  • PO1: Engineering Knowledge: Apply knowledge of mathematics, natural science, computing, engineering fundamentals and an engineering specialization as specified in WK1 to WK4 respectively to develop solutions for complex engineering problems.
  • PO2: Problem Analysis: Identify, formulate, review research literature and analyze complex engineering problems, reaching substantiated conclusions with consideration for sustainable development. (WK1 to WK4)
  • PO3: Design/Development of Solutions: Design creative solutions for complex engineering problems and design/develop systems, components and processes to meet identified needs with consideration for public health and safety, whole-life cost, net zero carbon, culture, society and the environment as required. (WK5)
  • PO4: Conduct Investigations of Complex Problems: Conduct investigations of complex engineering problems using research-based knowledge including design of experiments, modelling, analysis and interpretation of data to provide valid conclusions. (WK8)
  • PO5: Engineering Tool Usage: Create, select and apply appropriate techniques, resources and modern engineering and IT tools, including prediction and modelling, recognizing their limitations to solve complex engineering problems. (WK2 and WK6)
  • PO6: The Engineer and The World: Analyze and evaluate societal and environmental aspects while solving complex engineering problems for their impact on sustainability with reference to economy, health, safety, legal framework, culture and the environment. (WK1, WK5 and WK7)
  • PO7: Ethics: Apply ethical principles and commit to professional ethics, human values, diversity and inclusion; adhere to national and international laws. (WK9)
  • PO8: Individual and Collaborative Team Work: Function effectively as an individual and as a member or leader in diverse and multidisciplinary teams.
  • PO9: Communication: Communicate effectively and inclusively within the engineering community and society at large by preparing effective reports, design documentation and presentations, considering cultural, language and learning differences.
  • PO10: Project Management and Finance: Apply knowledge and understanding of engineering management principles and economic decision-making to one's own work, as a member and leader in a team, and to manage projects in multidisciplinary environments.
  • PO11: Life-Long Learning: Recognize the need for, and have the preparation and ability for, independent and life-long learning, adaptability to new and emerging technologies, and critical thinking in the broadest context of technological change. (WK8)
