The Department is well armed with state-of-the expertise laboratories and infrastructural facilities in all the core areas. Students get a wide exposure and practical hands on training in the sophisticated equipments during their lab sessions.
ELECTRICAL MACHINES LABORATORY
The electrical machine lab is well-equipped with DC machines, AC machines and special type of machines. All available machines are having a set up bench with latest supporting measuring equipment. Students utilize Lab for their different type of project works. Experiments based on machines such as load test, short circuit test, open circuit test, speed control are performed in Electrical machines Laboratory.

POWER ELECTRONICS AND DRIVES LAB
Power Electronics and Drives Laboratory is employed in applications ranging from few Watts residential to several Megawatts industrial systems and processes. Application of semiconductor switching devices such as Diode, BJT, SCR, MOSFET, IGBT, GTO etc. to convert and control the amplitude and direction of power flow to meet the load requirements is the main objective of this laboratory. Practical design are also covered in laboratory experiments and students will be able to design, simulate, develop and analyze the performance of various power electronic converters including AC/AC Converters, AC/DC Converters, DC/DC Converters & DC/AC Converters.
CONTROL AND INSTRUMENTATION LAB
Control and instrumentation lab is well equipped with trainer kit and with MATLAB software to perform the experiments. The instrumentation deals with both electrical parameters such as current, voltage, resistance, inductance, capacitance, power, power factor and non-electrical parameters such as pressure, displacement and strain. The control system is based on the simulation of linear and non linear characteristics of AC and DC machines with open loop and closed loop system.

POWER SYSTEM SIMULATION LABORATORY
Power System Simulation Laboratory deals with different faults such as transformer failure, winding faults and fault due to over current, Terminal fault using power system simulation tool. The programs used in the simulation laboratory for the purpose of analyzing and design in the Power electronics, Electrical drives, Power systems and Control systems.
Simulation tools help to create the new ideas which born’s in an engineer’s mind which seeks for a solution to power system problem the programs used in the simulation laboratory for the purpose of analyzing and designing.
ENGINEERING PRACTICIES LABORATORY
The course is designed to provide students a widespread knowledge and understanding of the electrical and electronic tools and other facilities. The indispensable and pervasive knowledge of electrical wiring and the electronic circuits will give the students an insight to their practical approach in our daily life.
